Meet the Leithner Financial Group Team

John Leithner

Financial Advisor

John began his career as a financial advisor in 2000. He founded and is lead advisor at Leithner Financial Group. John earned a BS in accounting, business administration, and economics from Eastern Oregon University. John provides his clients with a wide range of specialized financial guidance. He enjoys providing holistic financial planning. His focus is on his clients' investment, insurance, retirement, and wealth management needs. John holds the FINRA Series 7, 63, and 66 securities registrations as well as life and health insurance licenses. John specializes in creating and maintaining personalized financial plans for families, which includes budgeting, retirement, life insurance, long-term care, and estate planning. Some of John’s most treasured moments are when he can sit down with his clients and show them how they can achieve their hopes and dreams.

They have two adult children and one grandchild. Their daughter, Brittany, and her husband live on a buffalo ranch outside of Lubbock, Texas. They just had their first son. John and April’s son, Trevor, is a senior at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Both kids were very active in 4-H and FFA growing up and raised Herefords and club lambs. John served on junior livestock auction committees and the fair board during this time. John and April live on a small farm, and John loves to snow ski in the winter. They love to spend time with their children and grandchild. They also love to go see new places in the U.S. and plan fun ski trips to different ski resorts during the winter.

April Leithner

Office Manager

April, John’s wife, graduated from Eastern Oregon University with a degree in elementary education. She was a substitute teacher until their kids graduated from high school.  At that time, she stepped in to assist John in his business and is currently his office manager.

When not spending time with their children and grandchild or enjoying the snow on John’s ski trips, she is busy making handmade cards and other papercrafts. She has a card making blog that keeps her busy in her free time.  April loves going to new places and seeing new sites on their travels.

Tena J. Burrell

Financial Advisor

There are few financial planners who have an insight into caregiving like Tena Burrell who has been caregiving her own family members for many years, and is extremely active in the senior care community of D/FW. 

With thirty years of experience, Tena focuses on the unique needs of retirees, including financial management for caregivers, long term care options and social issues facing the family.

Her wide range of services enable individuals and families to plan for the future and protect and grow their financial assets while maintaining their standard of living - regardless of life’s challenges.

Tena works closely with many assisted living, memory care and long term care facilities in the Metroplex.  As part of her volunteer work with the Area Agency on Aging to facilitate Elder Family Caregiver Education workshops at senior centers, churches, and 55 plus communities. Tena is a volunteer board member of the Grapevine Senior Activity Center Advisory Council, and Tarrant County College Senior Education Program.

Tena assists her clients with retirement and estate planning, tax planning and investment portfolio management as a certified Investment Advisory Representative.

 

 

 

Rebecca Pico (Becca)

Co-Office Manager

Before stepping into the financail world for the past five years, Becca spent most of her career in Commerical Real Estate obtaining her Real Estate license in 2007.  She was a Property Manager for a 74 suite professional building for almost a decade.  She then served as a Property manager for a corporation that owned over 50 single family homes.

Beccas was born into a military family and had the opportunity to live all over the world including Iceland and Canada before settling in Texas.  In her spare ime, Becca enjoys traveling, sailing, gardening, jewelry making, cooking, entertaining and watching football with friends.  

Rebecca Murrill

Administrative Assistant - La Grande Branch

Rebecca grew up in La Grande, Oregon.  She had been in banking for more than 9 years before joining Leithner Financial Group.  In 1998 Rebecca met Marine Corporal Logan Murrill, a few months later they married.  After living in many places due to military service and schooling, they returned to the Grande Ronde Valley in 2016 and settled in Union, Oregon.  Logan and Rebecca have five children, Marcus (22) and Matthew (19) are attending Eastern Oregon University, Abby (17) is looking into art school, Avery (14) is an avid volleyball and basketball player, and Milo (8) keeps them all busy with his endless energy.  They love family game nights and when the weather is nice, they take fun road trips and enjoying spending time in the mountains.
